After indulging ouselves with a croissant from Dunkin’ Donuts, we headed north once again. Four hours later, we pulled into LaCrosse. Here, we found a parking lot next to the river and re-assembled “The Belle” to her previous glory. After a quick meal and a trip to “Wally World” for some provisions we put “the Belle” in the water for a test run. We wern’t too happy with the performance of the motor so we decided to stay another night in LaCrosse and have the motor checked out by the local marine shop. That night at the hotel was depressing to say the least as we thought we would be cruising the river by now. Sleep came quickly.
